Fueled by 20 years in education and a drone epiphany at a homecoming celebration, former history teacher Jeremy Akey launched Flying Circus Drone Service in the Spring of 2024. This ex-tech guru swapped textbooks for take-off, ready to revolutionize the future with aerial innovation.
So why name a business Flying Circus? As a history teacher, students constantly bombarded Jeremy with, "Favorite era, Mr. Akey?" While pirates and frontiersmen held a certain charm, WWI's dogfights over the Western Front truly captivated him (a fascination, he'd sheepishly admit, that was sparked by childhood afternoons spent watching Snoopy battle the Red Baron). The original Flying Circus (Der Fliegende Zirkus or Richtohen's Zirkus) was the famous and feared German fighter squadron - led by the Red Baron. Their colorful planes combined with their mobile air bases (which used tents similar to the ones used in the circus) earned them the moniker Flying Circus. Today, a flying circus is an organized group/club of pilots who engage in flying exhibitions and/or a formations of rotary planes.
Just like biplanes revolutionized warfare in WWI, the quiet hum of drones is poised to transform the 21st century. That's the vision of Jeremy "One-Eyed Jack" Akey, who—inspired by the Red Baron's era of aerial innovation—launched Flying Circus Drone Service. If there's a job drones can do, Flying Circus wants to be in the pilot's seat, revolutionizing work with the same gung-ho spirit that defined the Flying Circus aces of old!

Not only will we provide you with traditional drone coverage of the amazing properties you are representing, but our drone video footage can provide high definition pictures that are sure to wow perspective home buyers. Additionally, we have the ability to offer video-edited tours to your clients at a price that won't break the budget and will surely give you an edge over the competition.

Flying a drone without a remote pilot certificate in US airspace is a federal crime and can result in serious penalties!
In the United States, you need an FAA drone pilot's license, also known as a Part 107 remote pilot certificate, to operate a drone for commercial purposes. This includes any drone flight operations that result in direct compensation or are used to advance a business. Examples include: taking photos at a wedding, taking photos to help sell a property or service, roof inspections, taking pictures of a high school football game for the school's website, or surveying a construction site. There are no exemptions for having a drone under .55 pounds.
Civil penalties: The FAA can impose civil penalties of up to $27,500.
Criminal penalties: The Department of Justice can criminally prosecute and impose fines of up to $250,000 and/or up to three years in prison.
Rest assured - our pilot is highly qualified! He studied through Drone Pilot Ground School, aced his Part 107 exam, is licensed through the FAA, insured, and carefully plans each mission!
